Description

The AXIS-SA50 is a floating compensation unit for compensating positional deviations in assembly and joining processes in mechanical engineering.
It is used wherever components must be joined precisely despite manufacturing tolerances – for example during contacting or press-fitting operations.

The integrated spring-loaded centering mechanism ensures automatic, stress-free alignment of the components. This effectively compensates for misalignment and prevents mechanical jamming—even during repeated cycles in automated operation.

The module compensates for a radial offset of ±1 mm in the XY direction and a rotational angle of ±3°, while reliably transmitting high forces in the Z direction—both in tension and compression. It is ideally suited for gripper assemblies, joining units, and applications with limited installation space.

Thanks to its compliant design, the compensation unit AXIS-SA50 reduces mechanical peak loads and protects adjacent components—such as robot flanges or adapter elements—from premature wear. It improves centering during joining processes, minimizes assembly stresses, and ensures long-term process reliability.

FAQ

1. What is the AXIS-SA50 used for?

The AXIS-SA50 Compensation Unit is designed to compensate for positional deviations during assembly and joining processes. It helps ensure precise assembly despite manufacturing tolerances, for example in electrical contacting and press-fitting applications.

2. How does the AXIS-SA50 support the joining process?

The AXIS-SA50 Compensation Unit automatically aligns components without introducing mechanical stress. This prevents misalignment and reduces the risk of jamming, even during repetitive automated processes.

3. What types of movement can the AXIS-SA50 compensate for?

The AXIS-SA50 Compensation Unit compensates for radial misalignment of up to ±1 mm in the X/Y plane and angular misalignment of up to ±3°. At the same time, it reliably transmits forces in the Z-axis, both in tension and compression.

4. What are the benefits of the spring-loaded centering mechanism?

The integrated centering mechanism automatically guides the components into a stress-free position. This improves centering during joining and increases long-term process reliability.

5. Which applications is the AXIS-SA50 Compensation Unit best suited for?

The AXIS-SA50 Compensation Unit is particularly well suited for gripper assemblies, joining units, and applications with limited installation space. It can be easily integrated into both manual and automated processes.
